Keely Jardell's School of Dance Performs at Walt Disney World
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla – Dancers with Keely Jardell's School of Dance "Competition Team" became stars of their
own Disney show on Wednesday July 4 when they took the stage at the Galaxy Palace Theater in Magic Kingdom
Park. They traveled from Nederland, TX to the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida to take part in Disney Magic
Music Days.
Disney Magic Music Days was not the only performance opportunity that the dancers took part in. They also
competed in the World Dance Championships hosted by Starpower at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel. The
48 member team competed against dancers from the United States, Canada, Japan, Brazil, and Puerto Rico. Keely
Jardell's School of Dance took home five platinum medals, the highest rating available at the competition, and four
first place trophies. There were over 1,500 routines that took place during the competition.
"After we performed at the Magic Kingdom, people came up to us and asked when we would be performing again
so they could come watch," said Keely Jardell, choreographer. "This whole experience was so great and the girls
felt so special during their performances thanks to Disney's dedication to the programs."
The dancers also sharpened their performance skills during a workshop taught by a professional Disney
performer. During the workshop, the students learned techniques to help them in future routines and competitions.
Dance groups from throughout the country apply to perform each year as part of Disney Magic Music Days. Once
selected, ensembles are given the opportunity to perform at the resort for an international audience of theme park
guests.
Disney Magic Music Days is part of Disney Performing Arts Programs, which offers band, choral, dance and
auxiliary performers the opportunity to learn, perform and compete at the Walt Disney World Resort. For more
